Treatment Approach

In my practice I believe in working with my clients with an empathetic, nurturing and supportive approach, with acceptance and constructive feedback that taps into the potential of the client’s personal strengths and values.  I have been working extensively with depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief and other mental health concerns with a therapeutic focus on empowerment, restructuring destructive thought and behavior patterns, acceptance and over all emotional wellness.  I work with adolescents, adults, seniors and couples using an eclectic approach to meet each individual’s needs. Therapies used include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Solution Focused/Brief Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.  Psychiatric referral is also provided for medication management if needed.
An important approach to mental health wellness involves a focus on nurturing the whole person- mind, body and spirit.  Through the counseling process I am also able to provide additional resources you may desire or need to help support your path to emotional wellness such as acupuncture, yoga therapy, therapeutic massage and nutritional and supplemental support.
